Paul Nugent kills his rich cousin Sandra, hurts himself and fakes a jewel burglary. Sandra had a $1000,000 life insurance policy and Barnaby investigates for the insurance company. Suspicion falls on Lassiter since he and his wife were separated. Meanwhile Betty is charmed and starts dating Paul. Barnaby and J.R. must come to the rescue when Betty finds herself in danger
