To ensure that Ken Shamrock, Mankind, and The Rock don't team up with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin against The Undertaker and Kane, Mr. McMahon places all three men in a Triple Threat Match to determine the No. 1 Contender for the WWE Championship. The Women's Championship is reintroduced as Sable and Jacqueline face off to bring home the gold.
