Overview
The View premieres and introduces its panel: moderator Meredith Vieira, and co-hosts Star Jones, Debbie Matenopoulos, and Barbara Walters. Actor Tom Selleck is the shows’ inaugural celebrity guest, and at the end of the episode Joy Behar is introduced as the fifth co-host whom will fill in for Walters when the latter is unavailable.
