Overview

More than 23 million adults in the United States can't read. A young girl learns that her father is among the illiterate. This ABC Afterschool Special, while spotlighting the struggles and humiliation the illiterate face, focuses more on the daughter's efforts to help her father learn to read, and the power one has when overcoming this crippling problem.
